Crisis Support Information

If you are in a crisis or need immediate support, you can reach out to the following resources: 


Immediate Support


988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

Call or text 988, or chat at 988lifeline.org. This service is free, confidential, and available 24/7 across the United States and its territories. It connects you to a network of local crisis centers.


Crisis Text Line

Text HOME to 741741. This service provides free, 24/7 crisis support via text messaging. 



Specific Populations


The Trevor Project

For LGBTQ+ youth in crisis, call (800) 788-7386. This organization offers 24/7 crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ young people.


Veterans Crisis Line

If you are a veteran, press 1 after calling 988 to connect with the Veterans Crisis Line. You can also text 838255 or chat online at VeteransCrisisLine.net. 



Other Resources


SAMHSA's National Helpline

Call 1-800-662-HELP (4357) for treatment referral and information services. This helpline provides 24/7 assistance for individuals and families facing mental health and/or substance use disorders.


Disaster Distress Helpline

Call 1-800-985-5990 for immediate crisis counseling related to disasters. 


Important Note:

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) still works and will automatically route callers to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
